Specialist Facilitator - Cybersafety Theatresports
Australian actress Madeleine West first kicked off her acting career as an exuberant 5-year-old orphan in a stage production of Annie, but you might know her better as the beloved Dee Bliss on Neighbours who married Toadie and mysteriously disappeared.
Despite 35 years on stage and screen with an impressive filmography, Madeleine is best known for her some 45 television roles she has performed. Madeleine first hit TV screens as Dee on the Australian soap opera favourite Neighbours from 2000 - 2003 and returned in 2017 - 2020.
Other memorable roles include high-class escort Mel on Satisfaction, Dimity on House Husbands, and her undeniable performance as Danielle McGuire in Underbelly for which she won an AFI. Additional career highlights include diverse key roles on Fat Tony & Co and Playing for Keeps both of which received rave reviews and became household names on the Australian television scene.
On the other side of the screen, Madeleine is an avid environmentalist, working as a rainforest regenerator with ReForest Now and she works frequently in the homeless sector as a qualified homelessness facilitator, advocating for asylum seeker rights as the principal ambassador for the ASRC. Madeleine is also a podcaster, helming her series RESTART with Mamamia, a published author of a parenting biography and children’s series Lily D V.A.P and writes weekly editorials across a variety of magazines and online publications.
Oh, and did we also mention that she is a mother of 6 and about to run for parliament? Like they say, if you want to get something done, ask a busy person to do it!
For Safe on Social, Madeleine works with small groups in the art of Theatresports. In these sessions, the topics of Cybersafety and Cyberbullying are woven into the classes in a fun, engaging, and completely different way to learn about such important topics.
