Annie Fardell Hartley
Registered Psychologist
Annie is a Registered Psychologist and Suicidologist having worked in clinical, consultancy and management roles across Government, Not-For Profit and the private practice space for over 20 years. In addition to this, she is also a dedicated educator and trainer for tertiary education providers, workplaces and school groups. Annie’s career has included working with those of all ages within systemic contexts, predominantly with those experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues and developmental trauma.

In addition to her Psychology and Suicidology degrees, Annie is an Accredited Psychological Autopsy Investigator and finalising her PhD investigating how rural youth experiencing suicidality use social media to provide early identification and intervention.

Annie is passionate about working with and advocating for people who have experienced suicidality and self-harm, in particular, young people. Annie believes that social media is an important tool to flag, intervene and support people experiencing suicidality, however safeguards are not adequate and safety requires a whole community response to ensure safety. Building capacity around social media for suicidality detection and support is a key goal for Annie.
