Tips about privacy settings and screen time are not enough in an environment governed by algorithms, recommendation engines, and data economies that are invisible to most of the people using them.
When people understand that platforms are designed systems with incentives, feedback loops, persuasive design and commercial interests, they gain the ability to see influence rather than simply absorb it.
